Confusion

 

My thoughts wander and linger,

All broken and bleeding,
Peace is hard like marble,
Vast and unforgiving.

I remember, feeling,

perched at the window awake,
The desire of life, seeping,
Feeling the dream withing shake.

Shadows dance in the light,

Melting like wax,
On my bare skin, cooling white,
filling in all the lost cracks,
As it stops the symphony of time.

Hope of the Heart

I sit beside you,

Hope is between us
My heart soars in the moment
You hold my hand, briefly
“I missed you” tumbles from your lips
My soul warm with want
Joyful with this gift of time.
I do not trust to tell you,
yet my eyes smile and silently say
“ I love you still”

Fingers linger,
touching, forever remembering
drinking in the joy,
unbound, unfettered and free
as I lay in your arms

With closed eyes, I pray
Seeing the light of a feeling,
Dancing and moving within me,
As I feel your heartbeat
calling to my soul.

In the shadows, the morning rises,
As I try to hold you close
My fingers releasing,
what my heart and soul will not
My voice whispering without crying
“I love you”
